
About the AI Series
Summary
This learning program is designed to equip municipal governments in Connecticut with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into their operations.
By participating in this program, municipal officials and staff will gain a comprehensive understanding of AI’s potential and practical applications, enabling them to make informed decisions and drive innovation within their communities.
Program organization and sample content
The proposed program will consist of two main components.
- Training Sessions
Frequency: Quarterly (Four sessions per year)
Duration: 90 minutes each
Content: These sessions will cover various AI areas relevant to all aspects of municipal government, including but not limited to:
- AI implementation ethical considerations and governance
- AI for modern work and improved daily operations
- AI for financial planning and management
- AI in public safety, public health, and social services
- Hands-On Experience Sessions
Frequency: Monthly (Eight sessions per year, interlaced with the quarterly informational sessions)
Duration: 60-90 minutes each
Content: These sessions will focus on practical, hands-on experience and address specific needs and use cases being implemented or considered by the municipalities. Topics may include:
- Developing and deploying AI solutions for municipal challenges
- Case studies of successful AI implementations in other municipalities
- Interactive workshops on AI tools and technologies
- Collaborative problem-solving sessions to address local issues using AI
